Journey Insurance

Employee Injury Exposure

On the 19/06/2012, the NSW Workers Compensation act was amended and as a result now excludes claims for Injuries to workers whilst travelling from home to work and back i.e. “Journey Claims” – Workers Compensation Changes Fact Sheet Overview

This is a significant change to NSW Workers Compensation cover and a significant new exposure to your employees and your business.

There are approximately 7000 Journey Claims per year and NSW averages over $90m in claims per year for Journey claims alone.

With this knowledge we recommend you consider the impact on your business and how you would react in the event of a serious injury to an employee whilst travelling to or from work.

We recommend you consider Journey Insurance to help cover this exposure.
